Honda Recall Lookup and Free Recall Repair
Recall repairs are always free at any authorized Honda dealer, regardless of where you bought the vehicle or how old it is. Check your Honda by its 17-character VIN at the official Honda recall lookup or at nhtsa.gov, then schedule the repair at Serra Honda of Sylacauga, 40941 US Highway 280.
How to check if your Honda is under recall
We do not collect VINs on this page. Use the official lookups above, which return the result for your vehicle without storing anything with us.
- 1Find your VIN. It is the 17-character code on the driver-side corner of the dashboard, visible through the windshield; on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb; and on your registration and insurance card.
- 2Enter it at an official source. Honda's owner site at owners.honda.com shows open recalls and campaigns for that exact vehicle. The federal database at nhtsa.gov/recalls shows the same safety recalls for any make.
- 3Read the result. An open recall means the remedy is available and has not been performed on your VIN. A recall marked incomplete with no remedy yet means parts are not available; Honda will notify you by mail when they are.
- 4Schedule the repair. Book online or call (256) 245-5000 and tell us the recall number. We order the parts, if they are not already in stock, and complete the work at no charge.

Is Honda recall repair free?
Yes. Always, at any authorized Honda dealer, regardless of where you bought the vehicle or how old it is.
Federal law requires the manufacturer to remedy a safety defect at no cost to the owner, and Honda does that through its dealer network. Parts and labor are covered. You do not need to have bought the vehicle from us, you do not need to be the original owner, and the recall does not expire because the vehicle aged or changed hands.
What is not covered is unrelated work discovered during the visit. If a technician finds worn brake pads while completing a recall, the recall is still free and the brakes are a separate, quoted decision that is yours to make. We will never fold the two together.
Major 2026 Honda recall campaigns
Honda has issued several recall campaigns in 2026 across the CR-V, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline and Odyssey. The VIN lookup is the only way to know whether a specific vehicle is affected, so check it even if your model is not listed here.
One campaign deserves a plain explanation because it is easy to misread. In June 2026 Honda recalled a large group of Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline and Acura MDX vehicles for rear subframe corrosion. That campaign is limited to vehicles originally sold or registered in a defined set of states where road salt is used. Coverage follows the vehicle's history, not your current address. An Alabama owner whose truck was first sold in a covered state may be eligible, and an Alabama-original vehicle may not. Do not assume you are excluded because you live here; check your VIN.
We keep this section deliberately short. Recall details change, and the official lookup is always current. If your VIN shows an open campaign of any kind, the answer is the same: book it, and the repair is free.
